Amanda Rivas is a successful, working actor full of life and ambition. Born and raised in New Braunfels, Texas, Amanda knew she wanted to be an actress as a young child. She performed in high school theatre productions, culminating in an All Star Cast Award . After graduation, Amanda was hand-picked by Tejano music star Patsy Torres to sing and dance for a nationwide tour. Afterward, Amanda signed with Calliope Talent, Model, and Artist Management, LLC and has been personally managed and developed by CEO and talent manager Kristy Martin, MA for over seven years. Amanda also became a staffer in Calliope's office and has risen through the ranks to become a trusted and invaluable principal in the Calliope organization. Her industry experience, both in front of and behind the camera, has provided Amanda with uncommon knowledge and a broad education that she has applied to her career and life. Amanda has spent a significant amount of time training with leading casting directors, agents and coaches from coast to coast, and has developed her craft extensively, with strengths as both a comedienne and a dramatic performer. Through training, development, determination, an uncommon work ethic, and support from family and friends, Amanda has racked up countless film, television, commercial, industrial, music video, web, and print campaign credits. Noteworthy credits include Friday Night Lights, Chase, Prison Break, From Mexico with Love, The Tyra Banks Show, and lead roles in music videos by Rick Trevino and DJ Kane, among others. Amanda has screen-tested for numerous noteworthy filmmakers, such as Michael Bay and Robert Rodriguez. While Amanda has achieved terrific successes, she has managed to stay grounded and focused due to her unwavering faith in God, whom she glorifies above all else. She is close to her family and leans on them continuously. Her mother is her best friend, her dad is a great mentor, and her three younger siblings inspire her to be the best she can be. Amanda makes the most out of every day. Dancing, singing, reading, working out, telling jokes, and being a great friend to others are only a few of her many pastimes and talents. Amanda continually pushes herself to reach her goals and achieve her dreams. Her skills in acting, dancing, modeling, hosting, and improvisation have earned her the respect of talent representatives across a number of states (including Texas, California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Georgia, New Mexico, and New York). Amanda's latest film, Benavides Born, was selected for competition into the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
